When it comes to fashion, many follow the American ideology of going with "what's in" or the current trend. Like celebrities, for instance, most of them glamour themselves with designer made dresses or expensive handbags. They set an expectation for celebrities in the show business which is to dress to impress. However, one celebrity ignored that expectation and set a new one with her very rare style. And that one celebrity is Lady Gaga.
She is not only known for chart-topping hits across the globe but also with her unique sense of style. Lady Gaga doesn't settle for the common look celebrities have at awards shows. Instead, she shows up with a Renaissance-inspired gown with a gold feather headpiece or a meat dress. Yes that's right, a meat dress. It was at the MTV Music Video Awards where Lady Gaga steps on the stage, exposing herself with nothing but raw steak covering her body. After being seen by thousands of people, including countless vegans, critics started questioning Lady Gaga's intentions of wearing the dress. She explained at the Ellen DeGeneres' show that the dress "has many interpretations" and "it is certainly no disrespect to anyone that is vegan or vegetarian."
In my opinion, Lady Gaga's meat dress was a way for her to show people that more diversity is needed in the show business. Not just diversity in the physical aspects of the entertainment business such as the actors or talents but also emotional aspects of it. Emotional aspects meaning having something you believe in other than making a name out of yourself. As Lady Gaga further explained, her meat dress was her way to "show her support for homosexuals in the U.S. Army." She didn't just wear that dress to cause a stir but to use it as an "outside the box" way to represent something she believes in.

I loved that you focused not only on her outrageous style but the deeper meaning behind the meat dress. Most people would think it just four attention but why would she need more attention if she has the whole world listing to her music and watching her every move. I remember watching the VMAs this last mouth and when i saw her ware that dress, i was excited to see something so different, she definitely did not disappoint her fans that night.
