Global Warming...?

One of the big discussions of Americans today is... Is global warming actually real? I am using a political cartoon that came out about a month ago on the topic of global warming. Most people in America don't think that Global Warming even exists. Most people just think the weather is just changing. It’s showing how in the past years people would just think when it gets hot that a warm spring breeze was coming through their neck of the woods.

This political cartoon is actually very detailed which I am pleased with. The scene is set in a park. There is one big long bench and at one end of the bench there are two men sitting or what is left of the men because they are on fire. Then on the ground there are two other dead people but they are not on fire. In the back ground there are about three too four tress and they are all on fire. Then at the right end of the big long bench our two older looking ladies that are in vivid color and not on fire. At the bottom of the cartoon it says “Global warming? In my day, we called this a refreshing spring breeze!” the way the cartoon is set up the two old ladies are the ones speaking about global warming.

This cartoon shows that there are people out in America that still think Global warming isn’t a huge deal. The whole thinking Global Warming isn’t a huge deal I definitely the dominate ideology in American culture today. But what this cartoon is trying to show is that it is REAL. The old ladies could be representing America in the future when everyone else is bringing from Global warming because we decided to just ignore the topic.

I definitely agree with this article. People are ignorant of some of the dangers that global warming can cause. I think people do not want to believe that it is real because they do not want to change how they have been living their lives. Even with all the evidence, people are still standing by the idea that global warming does not exist. I think we should open our eyes and see that global warming could potentially cause major problems, and we should work harder to "go green."

I completely agree with this article. A lot of people choose to ignore the change of global temperature because they are afraid of change. They also ignore the effects that are already happening and make up excuses for them. I personally try to be as green as possible but my own parents refuse to believe something so "absurd". I really hope that more people will recognize what is happening to our planet and take responsibility, and not wait until it's too late.

I disagree with this article. Global Warming is just another one of those things that people are looking for to worry about. I think this comic is commmenting on how everyone is being dramatic and the only ones who are being realistic are the people who have experienced this before. When I say experienced this before I am speaking of the 1970's when they thought there was a problem with "Global Cooling". Scientists have looked at weather patterns for the last hundreds of years and we are not out of the ordinary. In fact not too long ago we had a higher psike in temperature than the "global warming" we are experiencing today. In conclusion, I think this article can be interpreted in multiple ways but in my opinion it is commenting on the hallucination Global Warming is causing.

I agree that global warming is a problem. It is happening faster than anyone really expected it to, and everyone needs to do something about it. Right now everyone is just disregarding global warming, and we need to do more to fix it.
