From Viral Video to Billboard 100

According to New York times,“The bar is getting lower for creative artists to break into the mainstream,” Mr. Crupnick said. New viral video are becoming such Internet success story's, that the are not only grabbing the attention of people on the web but now in the music industry. I small video what went viral was turned into a Auto-tune song which got viewed more than 16 million times on YouTube. Then later it was sold on iTunes what sold 91,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. After that the song terned up on the Hot one hundred list on the billboard charts, the same charts which at one time had Michael Jackson, Bob Dylan, Madonna and which know have artist like Eminem, Katy Perry, Lady GaGa.“In a sense, it’s not surprising that this viral pop music is succeeding as a pop-culture phenomenon.”Mr. Crupnick said. I think it is so interesting the music industry is letting a viral video become a legitimate song sold, and placed on the charts. This proves again that the music industry is very open minded to new ideas and trying move froward at the same pace the Internet is.

Hahahaha. I could go on and on about this. Let's face it, much of today's music is garbage. Seriously. It it so easy to make a hit single. It's overly simplistic and frankly just lazy. To see the likes of Lady Gaga and Katy Perry mentioned in the same breath as someone as innovative as Bob Dylan or Michael Jackson is just such a shame. 'Tis life in 2010.

I found this very interesting, because at one time just singing on You Tube would never have been thought twice about. Now people are doing everything over the internet. So I believe that it is a smart idea to see what is very popular in the internet world. Not everything will necessarily be good, but its more about what will get attention. So many people have a lot of talent and not always discovered, but with the right people looking in the right places they can really find some true talent.

I think this is actually really cool! Who knew something so small and unintended could get so big and well known. This just goes to show you that various ideas that grab people will get noticed. Their are so many talented people out their that don't intentionally want to get discovered. Reading this article makes me think that everyone that is good at something should show it and not hide it :)
