Jersey Shore

For my cultural analysis blog, I decided to dissect a popular pop culture television show on MTV we all know called Jersey Shore. Jersey Shore is all about drinking, looking good, bringing home girls, and partying. believe this show is causing controversy on how the show is setting an influence in young adults on getting drunk, partying and one night stands. The show is very stereotypical and clearly in every episode they have no problem labeling a person they met. The message that is trying to be set out in this whole hip show, is that the females have to dress up as whores to look good and bring home men, and that men are suppose to be tan and buff to be a man, and that if you’re anything other than that you’re nothing!

The show in my opinion is good entertainment and actually has some good comedy. Although, I do not like the message it’s sending out to people like us. The casts in the show get paid to do what they do; look good, party, and get into trouble with each other and as well others. If we were to do that, We would all get into trouble and it will not get you anywhere in life.

There are many people out there that are being themselves and living a happy life. They don’t have to do anything that Jersey Shore is depicting America to do. BE YOURSELF, and you will be cooler than those Jersey Shore punks.

I deffinetly agree with what you are saying. I believe that this show is fake just to get the attention of people. They are almost all in a fight everyday so what is that saying about our society? It seems like there saying that fighting is the answer to everything. I believe it is giving a bad example of what people are now into.

Preach on Joaquin! Dude that show is really stupid and is trying to convey boys and girls to commit explicable actions which they'll regret later in life. For example, Snooki made headlines when she was arrested, why can't we remember about those American soldiers who die every day to protect their homeland.

I agree with your opinion on how the characters in this train wreck of a show are outrageous, but i think the reason people watch it is to tease or make fun of their animal-like behavior. People don't watch them get super drunk and make out with eachother disgustingly and think "I want to do that.". I think they watch it to laugh at these ridiculous fights and hookups. In conclusion the actions just may to outrageous for viewers to imitate.
