Ground War

One of our biggest problems today is war. The war in Iraq is hurting many people and their families. Fortunately we are trying to put a stop to it soon. This seems to be a dominant ideology of America. War. We use it to try to settle things but all it does is hurt us even more and its just all bad. The song 'The War' by Angels & Airwaves is a good way to sum of what I and most people think of war and what they want to happen about it.

Basically the artist, Tom DeLonge wanted to write a song about war after he saw an Iraq survivor in a wheelchair with no legs. So this song talks about how he feels, and wants people to feel about war, so we can stop the war in Iraq. It gives examples on what happens to families and how we all assume to believe that we want this. That we want war. But we dont have to want war.

The artist is asking a simple question-"Why wont you tell me that its almost over?" I wish someone would answer that and say its almost over. This is clearly showing that this song was meant to go against war. All the other lyrics also make this clear. For example one that seems sad is "The families, now useless bodies, they lay still black and blue..." This goes to show what happens to the innocent people that dont want war in the first place. This could happen to all of us if war were to be brought over here. War could happen anywhere, so I dont know about you but I want war to end right now.
