Lemonade Stands Aren't Just for Kiddies :D

According to the New York Times  Michael Orobona is a 40 year old male restaraunt consultant selling lemonade outside his house on the street.  He originally was celebrating his birthday and making a partnership with the local kids.  Michael Orobona says "I’m getting to know my neighbors and my community."  Michael sells 3 different tpyes of lemonade, Rice krispies, Cookies, and Coffee.  He has a tip jar just as most lemonade stands generally would, full of dollars and coins.  Either a sign of recession or regression many adults in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn have gotten into the lemonade stand business. He does this every weekend since he started on his 40th birthday.  It looks as though Michael is just finding a way to beat the summer sun while also making some quick cash.  It may seem childish to sell lemonade especially when you're 40 years old but anything beats lying around your house doing nothing.

This is a little sad for the old dude but I cant say nothing hes making more then me. This is a very informing post I have gained alot from this. And I know now not to go to Brooklyn any time soon thanks for that.

I find it pretty sad that a 40 year old man still sells lemonade. And sad in the bad way. Why doesn't he get a second job or a hobby instead of degrading himself to do this? Go get a life.

i agree with the other comments but if you like to sell lemonade and it makes money, why not? I would stand on front of the side walk and sell lemonade thats not mine for money.

i this that this is pretty funny. you wouldnt usually expect 40 year old to have a lemonade stand. it good that in these slow times someone is doing something productive.

I don't think this is sad! Whatever he enjoys doing is his choice. If that's how he wants to live his life and make his money, then good for him! Not only does he make money, but other people enjoy his drinks and snacks and that makes them happy. This is also a way for him to socialize with his neighbors. What a clever idea!
