San Bruno's Big Explosion

According to New York Times, an explosion occurred on Thursday evening in San Bruno, California. The residents there had all noticed that it smelt like gas a little, but nobody ever thought anything of it. Some called PG&E and other companies to come and check it out, to see where the gas smell was coming from, but they never suspected anything. Many residents thought it was normal so they didn't notice it after awhile. On Thursday evening, the explosion happened. It was a gas pipe that was thirty feet underground that exploded and came up from under the ground. The explosion has left many San Bruno residents homeless.

I think that PG&E should have looked at the gas odor reports more seriously. They should have checked it out more thoroughly. They could have prevented this from happening. This explosion has affected all of the San Bruno residents. Most of the residents affected by this explosion have lost all of their personal belongings and maybe everything that they ever had. I think it is right for the PG&E company to provide temporary housing, food, and clothing. They should have detected the problem in the first place.
