U.S. Says BP Well Is Finally ‘Dead’

According to the New York times, the oil well that blew up almost five months ago is finally dead. On April 20th, a BP company oil well exploded in the Gulf of Mexico, ruining beaches from Loisiana to Southern Florida. The well that destroyed the gulf coast no longer has oil coming out from it. The well that was about 13,000 feet below sea level was plugged up with cement through another well. The well that exploded and two other relief wells that were used to help the process end are no longer going to be in use. All of this came after 205 million gallons of oil spread along the gulf. I am happy that the oil well does not have oil running into the ocean anymore, but I think it took BP too long to fix their mistake. The explosion happened so long ago that I do not think BP was very well prepared if something like this were to happen. They ruined beaches and took away thousands of jobs that people depended on. The only good that showed from this experience is that Americans can help each other out in times of need even if they don't know who they're helping.
