Signs of Healing

It was only five years ago that Hurricane Katrina came and swept up the nation. Even to this day, there are still some problems that New Orleans have. This situation has affected the whole United States, that more and more people have been helping out each year. They have been trying to rebuild the community that they once lived in. Even though it's been a couple of years since the tragic event, people have been trying their best to make things better. The city is an optimistic place and the mayor has announced a handful of long-stalled recovery projects. More entreprenuars have been starting businesses, which is a higher rate than average. But supermarkets are lacking in larger areas of the city, which is what people need the most. In my opinion of this whole situation, I'm glad that New Orleans is back on its feet after such a tragic thing happened, actually which is still happening. The communities are cooperating with each other which is why the recovery is moving faster.

Five years later and Hurricane Katrina is still talked about around the nation. I'm glad that they are starting relief efforts in the local communuty. It's great that members of the community are coming back to restore their former homes. I think that the idea of starting new businesses in the area will greatly restore the economy. One day I believe that New Orleans will be back in tip-top shape and will fully recover from this tragic natural disaster.
