Hip-Hop: The Ideologic Rebellion

Nowadays, if you just study and look at lyrics written by artists/bands, the person can see a whole lot of meaning. Hip-Hop started in the late 60's, but now it bears no resemblance to the hip-hop now. If we played hip-hop from the 60's with a room full of people used to hip-hop from the 90's and in to the new century, people would deny it's hip-hop. Through their lyrics, artists are communicating their beliefs, observations, criticisms, and anger about society, such as a new president, police, guns and drugs.

Hip-Hop is very controversial today, given the content of many artists songs. The lyrics in many of the hip-hop sings advocate certain views and opinions that don't represent the vast majority of American thought, yet the hip-hop culture is a vibrant, and popular ideology among many urban youth today, who are seeking a means of expressing their thoughts and beliefs. Some artists often talk about abusing women, swearing, gun and drug usage, and some politics that some people don't agree on.
