If it ain't broke...

... don't fix it.

Our society doesn't really follow that notion anymore. We believe anything, anyone can be changed, if only we inculcate our beliefs into them. Mikhaela Reid's cartoon illustrates the ridiculous attempts to change gay peoples preferences. This cartoon is critically judging these social morons. In this picture, Reverend Ted Haggard and the gay men have wires connected to their heads, attempting to drain out the "gay" in them. If that was possible, it would be a violation of our rights.

They pound these ideas of "righteousness" into their minds but what they're doing is actually going against everything we Americans value, freedom. Is that morally right? Of course not. People are allowed their opinions, so why must these bigots force certain people into their belief systems. If they wanted to join they would have.

I understand that these people, which is the majority of American people, have their strong opinions due to religious views, but that doesn't mean they need to go around fixing everyone to fit their standards. LEAVE. THEM. ALONE. It is as simple as that.

If they aren't hurting you, stop hurting them. They don't want to change, and shouldn't have to. They should be free to love whomever they want. It is their natural born right, their FREEDOM from judgement. Reid and I see it the same; let them be.

I agree with Brooke. Gay people dont hurt us at all, some people just think they do. They have the same right for freedom as us so we should let them love whoever they want. We shouldnt care at all. We should just care about ourselves, and remember the ideology of Equality.

I totally agree with what you said. I don't understand why some people are so concerned with other people's lifestyles and don't just worry about theirs. I have gay family members and friends and the way they live their life has never affected the way I live mine. I don't see why people can't just leave them alone. It's not like gay people judge others for following their religion so I can't see why people would judge them for being gay and try to change them, as if it was possible.
