Obesity Rates Keep Rising, Troubling Health Officials

According to the article writen by Denise Grady, which was published on The New York Times, obesity is still on the rise. Within the last year, nine state had their obesity rates rise more than 30%. Still the result are more than likely underestimated by the survay only being on the phone with only 400,00 partences. Dr Thomas Freiden, the director for Centers for Disease Control and Pervention, has said,"Over the past several decades, obesity has increased faster than anyone could have imagined it would." Everyone still blames obesity on bad happits with food and exercise. Colorado has taken the initiative by spending lottery money on trials, bikes, and other things people can use on their own. It is even said that people who use public transportation, are thinner because they have to walk more than people who use personal cars.

I honestly have a hard time with the reason for obesity. They are not changing, so the answer is not hard. It hard to have will power. I even have bad happits with eating and exercising too. I am really happy for Colorado. They seem to know what to do but unlike other states, they act apon the problem at hand. Eating can be attrackive for a number of reasons. I just feel that its a problem that can be helped if we help each other and are willing to put forth the effort.
