Livestrong

Helping the community is something that we should all do whenever the opportunity presents itself, or just when you have some spare time. Unfortunately i have not been doing this and having been assigned this project has made me realize this along with the good that i could also be doing, and it also helps me with my hours. So to start helping out i found out that Livestrong was having an event at Century 25 in Union City and decided to go help with that. I went with Terrance Walker and things didnt go as planned or at least as we expected.

We actually got there a little late, like five minutes, so there wasnt really an issue there. So we got there and then Diana Sloves told us all the details of what going on and what we were doing. She had told us that Livestrong was a program made by Lance Armstrong to help cancer patients, which to be honest i didnt know. After Diana told us that was like thats pretty cool, and felt better knowing it was for a good reason. However it was on a thursday night in a theater so there werent many people there.

The fact that there were not many people coming in the hallway we were in made us think to go out around the theater and had out the bracelets we were suppose to hand out. While we did this we would tell people what they were for and that if they went to see the documentary that night it would go to help cancer patients. Whenever we werent handing out bracelets we were just relaxing sharing a giant soda and popcorn and even watched terrance dance for a little bit. I am a little sad that not that many people came to see the movie that was playing for the organization but i feel good that i helped to teach people about the organization that i had just learned about.
