Civil Rights Movement Reflection

The Civil Rights Movement was very inspiring and extremely important. We can see a bit more clearly that non-violent protest can be very effective. It proved that kids do have power to change their future for the better. They helped make America a more comfortable place for anyone. Even though we still have problems today, it's not as bad as it used to be. People can live together a little more peacefully now and what those all those kids did will inspire others to strive for a better future now.

Equity and equality have there own problems to come if we some how achieve them. But it's understandable that people want to be treated equaly and get what they want. If everyone had the job they dreamed of (for example) then all the little jobs will most likely not be taken and society can collapse. Everybody's entitled to their opinion and they can voice it to others. Though it might be a negative opinion and people will be offended. Theirs nothing we can do about it. People need to be more empathetic and maybe we will become a step closer to equality.

Many people have learned from the movement and used the skills of non-violence today. People today can see and understand how non-violence is very affective. Now, people carry signs and simple march to declare the change they want. It's not very often that you hear about violent protests today; only non-violence that makes others angry and confused which leads them to being violent. People use their words and (non-violent) actions to assert what they want from their country. It's then the countries job to listen.

I 100% agree that nonviolent protects can be affective. It gives this feeling of being attacked if you are not doing anything wrong. More people tend to get involved if one group is attacking an innocent group. It also puts pressure on the government to act quickly to help end the protest so peace can be restored. It also gives people less reasons to not give you what you desire. Silence can be deadly!

I agree with your statement that "Theirs nothing we can do about it". there will always be a case on this earth where one person is above another in power and does not wish to be of the "lower class". As for non violent protest, yes i also believe it is a very powerful way of protesting. not only does it not hurt people, but it shows that you have a much more higher tolerance level than others. In a sense, its like you're much more civilized then those attacking.

I agree that nonviolent protesting is the best way to get a message out to the world instead of using violence. People will think that you know what you are doing and your serious about it. Using violence to get what you want never succeeds in the end. People who look over this civil rights movement and they feel sorry for all those African Americans trying to make a difference for the better. And that is why we have a more equal and balanced nation today.

I think u did an awesome job on your paragraphs and i totally agree with you. I agree that non-violence is really affective and we also learned a lot from the Civil Rights Movement. I think that it's also true that we have to do something and then the country should act and make things equal for all of us.

I too believe that the best and only way to get a message out is to use nonviolent protest. In all of the different type of protests we learn in class the one that is used the most and is most effective is nonviolence protest. Whenever a protest get violent it just prove to others that you do not deserve what you are fighting for.

I agree with what you said in the second paragraph and I remember talking about this with you. In my reflection I said that America is more like the land of oppertunity rather than equality or equity. Like what you siad, if everyone had just what they needed to get the same education as everyone else, "then all the little jobs will most likely not be taken."

I agree with what you're saying and as well as what everyone else is saying. Non violent protest is a powerful protesting tool. Whenever a protest gets violent, it pushes you away from what you're trying to get to.
